Belvedere is a small southeast Sacramento neighborhood out toward the Rosemont edge, a quiet residential grid of mostly postwar single-family homes. There is no marquee landmark holding it together. The whole appeal is an affordable freestanding house and an easy line onto Highway 50, and it does not pretend otherwise. Errands run to the retail on the nearby arterials, since there is very little commercial activity inside the boundary itself, so day-to-day life assumes a short drive. The payoff for that is the freeway: light rail runs along the Highway 50 corridor within reach, which puts downtown to the west and Folsom to the east both on a simple commute. What you are buying is calm and location rather than character. The streets are unflashy and car-oriented, the kind of block where not much happens and that is the point. What ties it all together is that Highway 50 line, the single feature that makes a modest, quiet house here worth choosing over one further from the ramp.
