Boulevard Park is one of central Sacramento's prettiest historic neighborhoods, a compact grid just north of Midtown built around the landscaped medians that give it its name (the boulevards trace the old Union Park horse-racing track). The housing is the draw: restored Victorians, Craftsman bungalows, and early-century apartments, many on the National Register, lining streets with a real canopy. You are genuinely walkable here, to Midtown's restaurants and bars, to downtown jobs, and to the river, with light rail close by. The tradeoff is central-city reality: street parking is tight, some blocks border busier arterials and the freeway, and you pay a premium for the history and location. For buyers who want architecture, walkability, and a true central address, Boulevard Park is one of the most distinctive options in the city.
