Cameron Park Country Club gives this part of Cameron Park its name. Bert Stamps designed the 18-hole course, which began with nine holes in the early 1960s and is private, so the fairways are scenery for the streets around them rather than a place to wander. The Cameron Park Community Services District runs its community center on Country Club Drive, and Hacienda Park is in the neighborhood for anyone who wants a green patch without a tee time. Homes around Cameron Park Country Club are single-family houses on the residential streets around the course, with the retail district and its restaurants packed in along Palmer Drive. Because the shops, the course and the houses sit so near one another, this is one of the easier places in Cameron Park to do a morning errand without a long drive. Palmer Drive is where the dining is. Papa Gianni's Ristorante at 3450 Palmer Drive has been in the Goldorado Shopping Center for more than twenty years, with a mural of Sicily on the wall and spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna and lemon cheesecake on the menu. Los Pinos, at 3420 Palmer, is a Mexican restaurant with its own bar. Yuki Sushi is known for lunch bento boxes and its Pink Lady roll, and Joe's Coffee & Deli covers mornings with a breakfast burrito and bagels. Cameron Park Lake and its disc golf course are close by, and Eastwood Park is a few hundred feet from the neighborhood's edge. Fork Lift, a Nugget Markets grocery, is the nearest big grocery stop just across the retail area, and Highway 50 runs toward Sacramento. The hourly El Dorado Transit loop stops in Cameron Park on weekdays. A private course means the green space is not open to everyone. The course and the restaurant row share the same few blocks, and that is most of the appeal.
