Creekside is one of the newer master-planned pockets of North Natomas, a North Sacramento neighborhood built largely in the past few decades on the flat former farmland north of downtown. The housing is contemporary single-family and townhomes on tidy streets, with the planned parks, paths, and detention basins that define the Natomas build-out. It is close to the regional shopping and entertainment that has grown up around the area, with quick I-5 and Highway 99 access and a reasonable line to the airport and downtown. The tradeoffs are the Natomas ones: a car-oriented layout, summer heat with limited mature shade on the youngest streets, and the area's long-discussed flood-protection context, which levee upgrades have steadily addressed. For buyers who want a newer home with planned parks close to the freeways, Creekside fits the North Natomas mold.
