Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Historic Grid, Downtown Walkable, Vintage Homes

Historic Sierra Vista is one of the older residential neighborhoods near the heart of Roseville, close to the Vernon Street downtown district and the historic core the city grew from. The housing carries real vintage character, with early-and-mid-century homes on smaller lots and the kind of established street trees that only decades produce. The draw is the location and the age. Downtown Roseville, with its Vernon Street restaurants, the Town Square, and Royer Park along Dry Creek, is close enough to reach easily, and the neighborhood has the walkable, human-scaled feel that the newer west side is still trying to build. Upkeep varies block to block, as it does in most older cores, from lovingly restored to plain. Historic Sierra Vista is for buyers who want character and proximity to the revitalizing downtown rather than new construction and big lots. It is one of the neighborhoods where Roseville's original identity as a rail-town core still shows.
