Hollywood Park is a settled mid-century neighborhood in south Sacramento, set below Curtis Park and Land Park near the Fruitridge and Freeport corridors. It built out largely in the 1940s and 1950s, and the housing reflects it: tidy ranch and bungalow homes on regular lots with established trees, a stable and well-kept pocket that has long offered solid value south of the marquee central neighborhoods. The area has its own park and is close to the Land Park amenities, the zoo, and the Freeport Boulevard retail, with a straight commute up to downtown. It is car-oriented but quiet and residential, without a busy corridor running through its core. The appeal is a well-maintained mid-century home with a yard at a more attainable price than Curtis Park or Land Park just to the north. It is a steady, under-the-radar south-city neighborhood.
