Lawrence Park is a small residential pocket in southeast Sacramento, set between the Tahoe Park and Oak Park areas near the 48th Street and Broadway corridors. The housing is largely older bungalows and postwar homes on a compact grid, an affordable and central-east pocket close to several busier neighborhoods without being one itself. The Stockton Boulevard corridor and the UC Davis Medical Center are nearby, along with the light rail on the Highway 50 line, which makes it more connected than its low profile suggests. The honest notes are arterial traffic on the edges and upkeep that varies block to block, the familiar southeast pattern. The appeal is a vintage or postwar home at a moderate price in a genuinely central-east spot, close to the med center jobs and the Stockton corridor services. It is one of the quieter, lesser-known pockets in this part of the city.
