Little Pocket is the smaller, older sibling of the Pocket-Greenhaven area, a riverside pocket tucked between Land Park and the larger Pocket along a bend of the Sacramento River south of downtown. The housing is a mix of older single-family homes, mid-century builds, and some prized riverfront properties, on quiet streets that benefit from the levee and river setting. It is more established and closer-in than the planned Greenhaven streets to the south, which gives it a different, more rooted feel, and it is an easy run up Riverside Boulevard or Freeport to Land Park and downtown. It is car-oriented, with shopping a short drive away rather than at hand. The appeal is a calm, river-adjacent setting close to Land Park and the central city, in one of the more under-the-radar pockets along this stretch of the river.
