Point West is more a commercial and high-density district than a traditional neighborhood, set in the Arden area near Cal Expo, the Arden Fair mall, and the Exposition Boulevard corridor. The footprint mixes hotels, office buildings, and apartment and condo complexes, all built to take advantage of the regional retail, the Business 80 access, and the proximity to the river. Living here means one of those multifamily communities, and it means trading quiet for convenience. The mall, the Cal Expo events, and quick freeway access are all right at hand, and the American River Parkway is only minutes away, so the everyday radius is short and the options within it are plentiful. The obvious cost is the setting itself. This is a busy, traffic-heavy commercial zone with little of the residential calm you find a few blocks deeper into Arden, where the apartments give way to quiet streets. Point West does not offer that stillness and does not try to. For anyone who wants to live right next to the regional shopping and the freeways, with the parkway close for balance, it is built for exactly that and delivers it without apology.
