Ramona Park is one of southern Alhambra's oldest residential tracts, established in the early 1900s, and many of its Arts and Crafts houses were designed by the architect brothers John and Daniel Althouse. Its northern edge runs along West Valley Boulevard, which puts some of the San Gabriel Valley's most talked-about regional Chinese cooking within a short walk. The housing mixes early Craftsman bungalows, some with Swiss Chalet touches, with later Spanish and postwar homes and scattered apartment buildings closer to Valley. Porches, wood siding and low-pitched roofs mark the older blocks, and single-family houses remain the norm on the interior streets. Granada Park is the neighborhood's green space, and it is the place for laps, dog walks and a bench in the afternoon. Surrounding tracts with no park of their own borrow it too. Valley Boulevard is the dining room. The Wild Whisk Bakery opened at 2428 W Valley in 2025, and Valley Tea and Coffee handles the everyday caffeine stop. Errands stay close. Asia Supermarket at 910 W Valley Blvd and Tai Shang Hong carry produce and pantry staples, and South Fremont Avenue has a small strip with Monty's, Nakazo Ramen Bistro and a Michoacana ice cream counter. Most people still drive, and the 10 freeway sits a few minutes south. Parking along Valley fills quickly at dinner, and the busiest restaurant lots can mean circling or walking a few blocks. Residents of Ramona Park can simply walk over, and on a Friday night that short stroll beats any parking lot on the boulevard.
