Richmond Grove is a small, lesser-known central neighborhood near the southern edge of Midtown, in the area around the R Street corridor and the streets just north of Broadway. The housing is a mix of older bungalows, early-century homes, and infill on a central grid, sitting within walking distance of the revitalized R Street district, Midtown's restaurants, and the Sacramento City College and Curtis Park areas to the south. It is genuinely central and pedestrian-friendly by city standards, with light rail and downtown jobs close. The tradeoffs are the central-city ones: tight parking, busier corridors, and the bustle of being near the R Street action. The appeal is a vintage central-city home with real walkability, often at a more moderate price than the marquee names a few blocks away. It is one of the quieter pockets stitched into the central grid.
