This is Sacramento International Airport, the region's primary commercial airport on the flat land northwest of the city near the Metro Air Park and the I-5 corridor, not a residential neighborhood. The footprint is terminals, runways, rental-car and cargo facilities, parking, and the open buffer land that surrounds a major airport. Nobody lives inside the boundary; its role is as the regional aviation gateway and a significant employment center. For the wider metro, and for the North Natomas neighborhoods to the south, the airport is a major asset: it is the area's connection to the rest of the country, a big source of jobs, and the reason the Natomas freeway network is built the way it is. As a place to live it is strictly an airport; its value is to the entire region as critical transportation infrastructure rather than to any single neighborhood.
