Silverwood is a gated cluster in southwest Granite Bay, a small community of roughly fifty homes split across a few subdivisions and set on the kind of oversized lots that make it read as estates rather than a subdivision. The gate and the low home count give it a private, self-contained feel, tucked among Treelake, Greyhawk, and The Downs near the golf side of the community. The houses run upscale to luxury, individually built and spread out enough that the streetscape stays open rather than dense. Behind the gate the traffic is essentially residents only, which is part of the appeal for buyers who want seclusion inside an already low-key community. As with the rest of estate Granite Bay, the conveniences are external: no retail inside the gate, a drive to the shops on Douglas Boulevard, and the heat and fire-season awareness that come with this dry stretch of Placer County. What Silverwood offers that many neighbors do not is the combination of a controlled entry and genuine lot size, a pairing that keeps its short supply of homes moving whenever one comes up. Time an early evening drive-through to see it at its best.
