Village 12 is one of the numbered residential villages of North Natomas, a planned pocket built in the area's recent expansion north of downtown. The housing runs to contemporary single-family homes on planned streets, with the parks, paths, and basins that characterize the Natomas developments, and the layout is the tidy, car-designed pattern typical of the villages. It is convenient for the freeways, with I-5 close and the regional Natomas shopping and entertainment within an easy drive, plus a quick line to the airport and downtown. The tradeoffs are the standard Natomas ones: a car-oriented setting, limited mature shade on the newer streets against the summer heat, and the area's flood-protection context that levee upgrades have improved. The appeal is a newer home with planned amenities and strong freeway access in one of the area's interior villages.
