Z'berg Park is a newer residential pocket at the far south end of the Pocket area, set near the Sacramento River and the park that gives it its name, honoring the longtime Sacramento assemblyman Edwin Z'berg. The housing leans to later single-family on curving, planned streets, sharing the calm, green, water-adjacent character of the broader Pocket-Greenhaven area at the southern tip of the city. The riverside park and the levee paths are the real draw, with shopping in the Pocket and Greenhaven neighborhood centers rather than a walkable Main Street. It is car-oriented, and like the rest of the Pocket, the single-entry geography can make trips to the rest of the city feel roundabout at peak times. The appeal is a relatively newer home in a quiet, river-and-park setting inside the city. It is one of the more pleasant southern pockets along this stretch of the river.
