Bay Harbour is one of the few guard-gated, waterfront communities in Long Beach, a planned enclave of about 200 upscale homes built in the 1980s on the inland edge of the Long Beach Marina, west of Pacific Coast Highway. Behind the gate, the streets are private and quiet, wrapped around greenbelts, with resident amenities that include pools, spas, and tennis courts. Many homes back onto water or sit a short walk from the marina docks, and the whole community is built for a low-key, resort-style routine. The shops and restaurants of Second Street, Marina Pacifica, and the Marketplace are just across PCH, close enough to reach quickly but separated enough that the neighborhood stays calm. The tradeoff is the usual one for gated living: HOA dues fund the guard and the amenities, and the architecture reads distinctly 1980s. For buyers who want security, water proximity, and a managed community near the bay, there are few direct comparisons in the city.
