Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Oakridge Mall, Light-Rail Edge, Valley-Floor Tracts

Blossom Valley is the flat, do-everything middle of south San Jose, and its calling card is the Westfield Oakridge mall sitting right at the edge. Having a full regional mall, plus the Blossom Hill and Snell light-rail stations, that close makes this one of the more genuinely convenient corners of the south valley, with the 85 and 87 freeways quick from here too. The housing is 1960s-and-newer single-family on the valley floor, medium density, solid tract stock that trades on location more than charm. That convenience is also the tradeoff. Blossom Hill Road and Snell Avenue are busy, and the mall pulls weekend traffic right past the neighborhood. This is not the quiet, leafy south-valley pick, and it does not try to be; it is the practical one, where the errand-and-commute math simply works. It is worth noting the name is shared with a Morgan Hill community, so pin any listing to the San Jose address. For a buyer who values being minutes from shopping and rail over a storybook street, Blossom Valley earns its keep.
