Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Postwar Tract, Suburban Calm, Eastside Value

Carson Park, which Houseberry pairs with the Plaza East label, is a classic postwar East Long Beach tract on the Lakewood border, built out between roughly 1948 and 1954. The homes are the modest two- and three-bedroom single-stories of that era on flat 5,000-square-foot lots, most of them updated and expanded over the decades. It is quintessential suburban Long Beach: quiet streets, driveways and lawns, and a settled, residential feel without much commercial activity inside the lines. The neighborhood scores on practicality. Heartwell Park and its golf course are close, the Long Beach Towne Center and Lakewood shopping are minutes away, and the 405 and 605 are within easy reach. There is no walkable retail core, so daily life runs on the car. For buyers who want an affordable, well-located house with room to put their own stamp on it, this part of the eastside delivers.
