Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Freeway Wedge, Vintage Bungalows, Tight Knit

Coolridge Triangle takes its name from its shape, a wedge of North Long Beach pinned between the 710 and 91 freeways where they angle together. Inside that triangle is a surprisingly tidy, close-knit neighborhood of single-family homes and bungalows built from the 1920s through the 1940s, with one of the more active neighborhood associations in the city. The freeways that define the borders are the obvious double edge: they bring noise and a hard boundary, but they also make this one of the most connected spots in North Long Beach, with the beach reachable in well under twenty minutes and downtown a quick run down the 710. There is no retail core inside the lines, so errands rely on the surrounding avenues. For buyers who want an affordable older home and prize freeway access over a walkable strip, the Triangle is an easy-in, easy-out pocket with real community spirit.
