Country Hills marks the southern reach of established Antioch, the subdivisions along Deer Valley Road as it slopes toward Sand Creek. Kaiser Permanente's Antioch Medical Center sits just down the road, making this one of the few neighborhoods in the city where a major employer is a five-minute commute. The Sand Creek growth area starts essentially next door, where the Ranch project is bringing hundreds of approved homes to the open land west of Deer Valley Road. Housing is newer two-story stock with hills at the end of the street. It is one of Antioch's quieter corners, and the edge-of-town setting is the appeal: open country at your back, the city's retail a drive north, and Deer Valley High and the Prewett Family Park complex a few minutes off on Lone Tree Way. The catch with living on the frontier is that the frontier keeps moving. Construction traffic and shifting views come with the address, and anyone counting on those hills staying empty should read the city's Sand Creek plans before closing.
