Dove Hill is a quiet residential tract on the lower eastern hillsides of San Jose, in the Evergreen-adjacent part of the city where the valley starts to lift toward the foothills. For a longer walk, the Thompson Creek Trail and Lake Cunningham Regional Park are a short drive northwest. The trail follows a creek greenbelt, partly paved and partly dirt, and the lake park adds a big skate park and Raging Waters for summer afternoons. Montgomery Hill, behind Evergreen Valley College to the east, has the steepest climb around and a trail network that ties into the campus. Errands have to happen by car. There's no shopping inside Dove Hill, so groceries mean a drive toward Aborn Road, where the Evergreen library branch also sits, or north toward Eastridge. Capitol Expressway and US 101 are the main routes out, and no rail line serves this side of the city. But it offers a peaceful, slightly elevated East Side street at an accessible price. For a buyer who wants calm and a touch of hillside over walkability, Dove Hill is a modest, sensible choice, with the school situation worth checking.
