Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Park Adjacent, Postwar Homes, Eastside Calm

El Dorado Park South sits just below the southern edge of El Dorado Regional Park on the east side of Long Beach, a settled mid-century neighborhood that shares in its famous neighbor's open space. The homes are postwar single-stories on flat, well-kept streets, the kind of solid eastside stock that has held value as the broader El Dorado area became one of the city's most desirable corners. Residents are minutes from the park's lakes, trails, and nature center, and the El Dorado municipal golf course and the bike paths along the San Gabriel River are close. Daily errands run to the shopping along Spring Street and Studebaker, and the 605 is a quick connection. There is no walkable commercial strip inside the neighborhood, so it is car-oriented like the rest of the eastside. The appeal is a quiet, green, family-paced setting with a major regional park essentially at the doorstep.
