Marina Pacific, better known as Marina Pacifica, is a large waterfront condominium community in the southeast corner of Long Beach, built in 1974 along the channels where Pacific Coast Highway meets the bay. Its more than 500 townhomes and condos are spread across landscaped grounds with six pools, spas, a fitness center, and boat slips, and a private pedestrian bridge connects residents to the adjacent Marketplace shopping center with its restaurants, grocery, and movie theater. It delivers a true lock-and-leave, resort-style routine on the water, with Second Street, the marina, and Naples all minutes away. Because it is a guard-secured condo community, it draws buyers who want waterfront living and amenities without the upkeep of a single-family home. The tradeoffs are HOA dues and the 1970s vintage of the architecture. For low-maintenance life on the water near the bay's best shopping and dining, Marina Pacifica is one of the city's signature complexes.
