Newhall sits right up against Mineta San Jose International Airport near the Santa Clara city line, and that airport defines it. This is an area of older residential pockets mixed with airport-related and industrial land, on the flat ground near the De La Cruz and Central Expressway corridors, and the single biggest thing to understand about living here is the aircraft: planes come and go directly overhead, and the noise is a genuine, constant part of daily life. The tradeoff for that is location, since it is close to the airport, the freeways and the Santa Clara border, which suits some buyers who prioritize proximity over peace. The honest read is that this is a utilitarian, airport-adjacent pocket with little public open space and an industrial character rather than a residential-neighborhood feel, and the school district near the border is worth confirming by address. For a value-minded buyer whose priority is airport and freeway access, Newhall is functional.
