Next door, College Park and Northside are more residential, and the Golden Triangle's office parks sit just beyond the airport. De La Cruz Boulevard and Central Expressway carry much of the nearby traffic. The Guadalupe River Trail is the outdoor space that matters most. It follows the river along the airport's edge, slips under Skyport Drive and US-101, and keeps going north toward Alviso, so a morning ride or run can stretch for miles beside the water with planes lifting off overhead. Public parkland inside Newhall itself is limited. Market Center on Coleman Avenue covers quick meals, with BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse for a sit-down dinner and a SAJJ counter doing Mediterranean bowls, falafel and shawarma. A short drive south on The Alameda, LUNA Mexican Kitchen serves farm-sourced Mexican food with margaritas on its patio, and the Bill's Cafe on the same street is the stop for a big weekend breakfast. Getting around is easiest by car. I-880 and US-101 are each minutes away, the airport terminals are a quick drive, and VTA light rail runs along North First Street a short way to the east. For a value-minded buyer whose priority is airport and freeway access, Newhall is functional. For almost anyone seeking quiet or green space, the overhead traffic makes it a hard fit, and it is only fair to say so up front.
