San Tomas West takes its name from the creek that gives it its best feature: the San Tomas Aquino Creek corridor runs the eastern side, adding a ribbon of green and a trail to what is otherwise a flat, established West San Jose tract. The Green Line light rail runs through Campbell, close enough to drive to but not really a walk. It shares the area's honest tradeoffs: the arterials on the edges, the car-dependence, and boundaries that blur into the neighboring tracts.
