Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Andrew Hill Campus, Capitol Corridor, Post-war Tracts

The northern end of Seven Trees is anchored by Andrew P. Hill High School, whose big campus and fields sit right in the middle of the neighborhood and set its rhythm. This is post-war single-family tract territory on the flat valley floor, framed by Senter Road, Monterey Highway and Capitol Expressway, part of the broader Seven Trees community but on its more arterial northern edge. Like the rest of the area, it is an established, affordable, working neighborhood where the schools and a handful of parks do the heavy lifting for daily life. The tradeoffs are plain: Capitol Expressway and the other arterials carry real traffic, the housing is of its era, and there is no rail within an easy walk. What you get in exchange is a real neighborhood at a genuinely accessible price, close to the freeways and to the civic core just to the south. For buyers priced out of the leafier parts of San Jose, north Seven Trees keeps a foothold in the city.
