Stonegate Village sits on flatter ground than most of El Dorado Hills, a practical layout of smaller tract homes within walking distance of schools and the community center. It borders Governors, St Andrews, and Fairchild, and slots against the Serrano plan on its eastern edge, giving it a central, connected position. Its real asset is the New York Creek Trail, which threads through the area and links toward the Town Center, making this one of the more genuinely walkable pockets in a town that mostly drives. The flat terrain helps too, an easy place to get around on foot or bike. The tradeoff is that the homes are modest and closely set, without the views or acreage the hillside neighborhoods trade on, and the flatter, denser feel is less dramatic than the foothill enclaves. What Stonegate offers instead is a trail, schools, and the community center essentially at hand, which is not a small thing here.
