Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Freeway Access, Sierra Elementary, South Rocklin

The Highlands occupies a stretch of southeast Rocklin between the Sunset corridor and the Sierra College area, on gently rising ground that gives the neighborhood its name. It is an established residential district, built out in the suburban Rocklin manner with curving streets, single-family homes, and services gathered on the surrounding arterials rather than woven into the blocks. Sierra College Boulevard and the Sunset corridor put shopping, the college, and freeway access within a short drive, and the interior streets stay quiet once you are off the main roads. The canopy has matured, so most of the neighborhood reads as green and settled rather than new. The tradeoff is arterial-dependence: the everyday retail is a drive, not a stroll, and the busier edges carry traffic. But as a mature, well-kept southeast Rocklin address with easy reach to both the college and the freeway, The Highlands is a steady, unflashy choice.
