Wildhorse is the East Davis subdivision built around its own golf course, east of Pole Line and north of Covell, and it is the closest Davis gets to a manicured, golf-community look. Laid out in the late 1990s and early 2000s with a web of roundabouts that newcomers reliably get lost in, it pairs the course and greenbelt with some of the more polished newer homes in town. The Wildhorse Golf Club and Grill anchor the neighborhood, the greenbelt and bike paths thread through, and there is a local point of pride worth knowing: Henri Court is nicknamed Candy Cane Lane for its all-out Christmas lights display. East Davis schools and the Pole Line and Second Street retail are an easy trip. The honest notes: the golf course is the visual amenity but play is a club matter, not public park space, and like the rest of east-edge Davis this is car-oriented and a real distance from downtown.
