Wrigley Heights is a small neighborhood on the northern edge of the Wrigley district in west-central Long Beach, tucked against the open land along the Los Angeles River near Wardlow Road. It is one of the greener, more tucked-away pockets on this side of the city, bordered by the river corridor and its trail, the nearby open space, and the 710. The housing is a modest mix on quiet streets, and the river-edge setting gives the area a bit of breathing room that the denser Wrigley blocks to the south do not have. The tradeoffs are the freeway and the industrial-and-river edges that frame it, and the lack of a retail core inside the boundary. For buyers who want an affordable, central-west location with the river trail and open space close and quick freeway access, Wrigley Heights is a quiet, lesser-known option on the northern Wrigley fringe.
