Interior streets stay quiet, though 14th Avenue carries a steady flow toward the freeway along the edge. Having a park at the heart of the neighborhood is the whole point. Bella Vista Park's playground, open lawn, and basketball half-court fill up most afternoons, and the shaded paths pull runners on loops. A short walk north reaches the cafes and a well-liked deli around Ivy Drive, and Highland Hospital's services border the southeast corner. There are no big stores inside the boundary, but International Boulevard buses connect fast to Fruitvale BART and downtown.
