Blithedale Canyon is one of Mill Valley’s most secluded and scenic residential areas, tucked away in the shadow of Mount Tamalpais and enveloped by forested trails. This is where the redwoods tower taller, the air feels cooler, and daily life moves at a slower, more peaceful pace. The neighborhood is almost entirely residential, with winding, narrow roads leading to a mix of rustic cabins, shingled cottages, and custom hillside homes. Many properties feel like they’re hidden in the woods, offering privacy, serenity, and direct access to nearby trails like Blithedale Summit and Cascade Falls. There are no commercial amenities in the canyon itself-residents rely on Downtown Mill Valley, just a short drive (or ambitious bike ride) down the hill, for shops and dining. That said, the proximity to nature here is the real luxury. It's a favorite among hikers, creatives, and those who prefer to be just a bit removed from the bustle. Getting in and out can be a bit tricky, especially on narrow roads that wind through the hills. But for many who live here, that’s part of the appeal.
