Clayton Valley Highlands climbs the southeast edge of Concord toward the Clayton line, where the flatland gives way to gentle hills and the lots start to feel a little more generous. The Highlands in the name is earned: you gain elevation, and with it some of the better Mount Diablo views in this part of town. Schools are a real reason people land here. The neighborhood pulls toward Highlands Elementary and the well-regarded Clayton schools like Mt. Diablo Elementary and Diablo View Middle, and that assignment shapes who tours these streets. Lime Ridge Open Space sits close by for trail days, while everyday shopping means a short drive back down to the Clayton Road corridor. It's quiet, residential, and a notch newer-feeling than central Concord. The catch is the usual hillside one: you trade walkable convenience for calm and views. For buyers willing to drive for milk in exchange for a settled, school-driven neighborhood, the Highlands is an easy one to like.
