Cordova Lane is one of the plainer midcentury pockets in the central core, a grid of modest single-story homes off the Folsom Boulevard corridor that has stayed relatively affordable while the master-planned east side pulled prices up. The homes are the compact ranch stock the city was built on, functional and unpretentious. The draw is position and price. Folsom Boulevard and its light rail line are close, Highway 50 puts downtown Sacramento inside a short commute, and the everyday shopping sits on the nearby arterials rather than a long drive off. It is a car neighborhood with transit as a real backup. Upkeep varies block to block, which is the usual story in this part of Rancho Cordova, and there is no marquee park inside its bounds. But for buyers who want to be in an incorporated city with rail access without paying east-side prices, Cordova Lane is one of the more attainable ways in.
