Sunridge Park is one of the earlier pieces of the Sunrise Douglas build-out, a subdivision of more than eight hundred single-family homes that went up in the first years of the 2000s on the master-planned east side. The homes are consistent early-2000s stock on planned, sidewalk-lined blocks. Like its neighbors, it was laid out with parks and walking paths built into the plan rather than added later, and the streetscape carries the tidy, uniform look that comes with an HOA and a single era of construction. Shopping and services sit out on the surrounding arterials of Sunrise Boulevard and Douglas Road. The tradeoff is the usual one for this corner of the city: you are a long way from Highway 50 and the freeway commute, and the architecture is builder-standard rather than distinctive. In return you get a quiet, orderly, relatively new neighborhood that has had two decades for its trees to fill in.
