Sunrise / Jackson takes its name from the intersection that anchors it, where Sunrise Boulevard meets Jackson Highway (State Route 16) on the southern edge of Rancho Cordova. It is a transitional stretch, part older residential and part open and commercial land, out where the city thins toward Mather and the county line. The character here is set by the two big roads. Sunrise Boulevard runs north into the heart of the city and its retail, while Jackson Highway carries traffic east and west along the southern flank. Homes are a mix, and services are reached along the arterials rather than on foot. The tradeoff is exposure: this is arterial and edge-of-city land, not a sheltered interior neighborhood, so through-traffic and a workaday streetscape come with the address. What it offers is space, road access in several directions, and prices set well below the master-planned east.
