Kavala Ranch is one of the newer master-planned pieces on the far east side of Rancho Cordova, part of the Sunrise Douglas growth area where fresh construction has continued to fill in well into the 2010s and beyond. The homes are current-era single-family stock on planned streets with the clean, uniform finish of a community built to a single blueprint. Parks and walking paths are part of the design here, and the neighborhood is served by the newer schools that came with the east-side build-out. Day to day it runs on the surrounding arterials of Sunrise Boulevard and Douglas Road, with shopping and services a short drive rather than a walk. The tradeoff is the one shared across this corner of the city: you sit a long way from Highway 50 and the westbound commute, and the streetscape is new enough that the canopy is still coming in. What you get is some of the freshest housing stock in Rancho Cordova on quiet, well-kept blocks.
