Davis Manor is one of East Davis's original postwar subdivisions, the established stretch east of the railroad tracks where the streets carry college names from the eastern-schools theme. It has the settled feel of a neighborhood that has been lived in for decades, with mature trees and single-story homes on real lots. The everyday anchor is the Davis Manor shopping center, which keeps groceries and basics within walking or biking distance, and Davis Manor Park gives the neighborhood its own green. Birch Lane Elementary and the East Davis school cluster are part of why families stay put here for years. It is not flashy. The housing stock is older and unpretentious, and renovations vary block to block. That ordinariness is the point: Davis Manor is steady, central to East Davis, and priced more reasonably than the newer subdivisions east of it.
