Forestland is a slender, wooded ridge along Skyline Boulevard above Montclair, running north toward Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve. Steep lanes like Sobrante Road and Manzanita Drive twist through towering redwoods and eucalyptus, with homes on stilts or terraced into the slope. The architecture spans 1960s split-levels to angular contemporary builds, many catching filtered bay or canyon views through the tree canopy. Outdoor access is the calling card. Trailheads into Sibley and the Huckleberry Botanical Preserve sit right on the eastern edge, and Pinehaven Road connects to smaller creek-side paths. Inside the boundary you will find the members-only Montclair Swim and Tennis Club but no shops, so groceries, cafes, and Montclair Village's weekend farmers market are a seven-minute drive downhill. The streets lack continuous sidewalks, yet traffic is so light that dog walkers and joggers share the pavement comfortably. The feel is secluded, nature-oriented, and quietly upscale. Lots are generous, landscaping is well kept, and the dense forest backdrop gives every property a cabin-in-the-woods quality even though Highway 13 and Orinda's downtown are both a quick drive off. As with every neighborhood up here, the wooded setting that makes it special also makes wildfire readiness a permanent part of the routine.
