Havenscourt is a flatland neighborhood in the heart of East Oakland, set around Havenscourt Boulevard between Bancroft and the rail corridor. The housing is the area standard, 1920s cottages and post-war bungalows on small, mostly fenced lots, with the block-by-block alternation of well-tended homes and properties carrying deferred maintenance. It sits among a cluster of similar neighborhoods, near Lockwood, Coliseum, and Seminary, that share its grid and its rhythm. Daily needs run on the corridors. The markets, taquerias, and quick-serve spots of Bancroft and International cover the basics, with Eastmont Town Center close by for a grocery and a clinic, and AC Transit threading the main streets while most trips happen by car. Coliseum BART is within reach for a regional ride. Dedicated green space inside the boundary is limited, so park time leans on the nearby East Oakland recreation centers and school fields.
