Highway Homes is a small, plainly named pocket in the western flatlands of Vallejo, and the name is basically the orientation: this is the part of the city built close to the freeway and arterial network rather than tucked away from it. Grace Patterson Elementary serves the area, and the surrounding blocks are older and modest, with the freeway proximity the name promises. The upside is access. You are close to Highway 37, the Sonoma Boulevard corridor, and the routes out toward Marin and the rest of the city, so getting in and out is easy. The downside is the flip side of the same coin: this is one of the lower-key, harder-worn corners of Vallejo, the traffic and arterial noise are part of daily life, and upkeep runs rough in spots. It is a practical, no-frills location for people who prioritize a quick on-ramp over a quiet street.
