Inglewood Knolls Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review
Key Words: Center Park, Prairie Avenue, Northgate Market

Inglewood Knolls is the Inglewood neighborhood just south of Century Boulevard, where Prairie Avenue runs past a grocery-heavy stretch of shops toward Imperial Highway. SoFi Stadium and the rest of the Hollywood Park district sit right across Century to the north. Homes here are mostly single-story postwar houses on a regular street grid, with stucco or wood siding, front lawns and driveways. Many have been updated over the decades with new windows, garages turned into living space or added back units, but the blocks still read as the tract neighborhood they started as. Center Park on West 111th Street is the neighborhood park, with open grass for a game of catch or a walk. For a longer loop, Rivers Lake and the new parks at Hollywood Park are a short drive north. Prairie Avenue carries most of the local food. Kenny's Q Bar-B-Q is a barbecue counter on South Prairie, and Joe's Diner House, a few blocks north on the same street, keeps the diner menu going. Daily life here depends on the car, but trips are short. Most errands happen within a couple of miles, and Imperial Highway leads to the 105 for trips toward LAX or the South Bay. Living this close to the stadium district means event traffic. The upside shows up every week at the checkout line, since Northgate, Aldi, Food 4 Less and El Super sit within a few minutes of each other and Inglewood Knolls residents rarely need to go farther for groceries.
