Imperial Avenue, Ocean View Boulevard and Logan Avenue carry most of the traffic through Lincoln Park, a neighborhood in southeastern San Diego that runs from the trolley tracks south to the National City border, between Interstate 805 and Euclid Avenue. It takes its name from Abraham Lincoln. The oldest homes sit on the residential blocks that stretch from Imperial Avenue down to Ocean View Boulevard. On Logan Avenue, in the low stretch from 47th Street to Euclid that locals call The Dip, the Sea Breeze Gardens apartments anchor the center of the neighborhood. Chollas Creek winds through on its way toward the bay, and Lincoln High School sits on Imperial. Euclid Avenue is where people eat and shop. Near the trolley, the Market Creek Plaza area has a Food 4 Less for groceries, along with a Starbucks and several quick-service counters. Taco shops and markets dot Imperial and Logan as well. John F. Kennedy Neighborhood Park on Ocean View Boulevard is the local spot for a game or a walk, and Chollas Creek, which winds through the middle of the neighborhood, adds a thin ribbon of green along its course. Getting around is easier than in many parts of the southeast. The 47th Street station on the Orange Line, at 350 47th Street, has a park-and-ride lot, with trains heading west toward downtown and east toward El Cajon, and the Euclid Avenue station sits just past the northeast corner. I-805 runs along the western side, and buses follow Imperial and Euclid. Choices for dinner are limited once you leave Euclid Avenue, and the main roads carry heavy traffic at rush hour. Lincoln Park balances that with two trolley stations at its edges, a high school at its center and a stretch of Euclid that covers groceries, coffee and a quick meal within a few blocks of each other.
