Miller Avenue covers the residential blocks just west of downtown Gilroy, framed by Wren Avenue on the west and Carmel Street on the east, with the Miller Avenue corridor running through. It's a central, older part of the city, which means you're close to the action and to everyday errands in a way the edge neighborhoods aren't. Head south and Miller Avenue leads toward Christmas Hill Park, the longtime former home of the Gilroy Garlic Festival, with its trails, soccer fields, and a connection to the Uvas Creek levee path. That proximity to real open space is one of the neighborhood's stronger cards. The honest part: this is one of the busier, more worn central pockets, and it doesn't have the polish or the quiet of the newer west-side tracts. What it offers instead is a genuinely central location with parks and downtown both close at hand. It's a convenience-first part of Gilroy, lived-in rather than manicured.
