Montego sits along the southern edge of Cambrian, where the neighborhoods start to give way to open hills. It is a smaller pocket, and it feels a bit more tucked away than most of Cambrian. Once you are inside, traffic drops off quickly and the streets feel quiet, with a more private, end-of-the-road atmosphere. Homes here are mostly mid-century ranch-style houses, similar to the rest of Cambrian, but the setting is what makes the area stand out. The neighborhood backs up to open hillside, so instead of looking into another row of houses, many streets have a more open, less boxed-in feel, with more variation in lot shape and elevation than the flatter grids nearby. There is not much in the way of internal amenities, but the location works in your favor. Camden Avenue runs along the top edge with grocery stores, casual dining, and everyday services a couple of minutes away, while once you are back inside the neighborhood it feels removed from that activity. Almaden Meadows Park sits just outside to the east for open fields and playgrounds, and the Almaden foothills are a short drive for bigger trails. Curb appeal is solid but not showy. The real draw is the quieter setting and the open space right at the edge.
