North Village sits on the north side of Vacaville and is one of the city's newer pockets, with modern suburban homes, many built in the 2000s. Corderos Park is the green space inside the area, and the bigger draw is the hill country beyond it. The hiking preserve in Browns Valley sits up the road, with hiking trails and trailhead parking along Vaca Valley Parkway. Centennial Park, a 265-acre spread on Browns Valley Parkway with ballfields, tennis courts and a network of dirt trails, is a short drive away as well. The area's biggest institutional neighbor is the Kaiser hospital on Quality Drive, and its cafeteria is one of the few places to eat inside the boundaries. The rest are quick spots such as Blimpie, Burger King and Surf City Squeeze. A little farther brings Clay Oven Grill and Bar, which does a modern take on Indian classics with a long vegetarian list, The Brass Tap for craft beer, and Enjoy Coffee and Starbucks for a morning cup. Enjoy Coffee has indoor seating and hosts community events. Pure Grain Bakery, a short drive toward the Nut Tree, bakes German-style pastries and breads. For errands, the Nut Tree Plaza is the main stop, with grocery shopping at Nugget Market. Buses and regional lines gather at the transit hub on Allison Drive, though most people here rely on cars, and Interstate 80 is the way toward Sacramento and the coast. Dining out is the weak spot. At the plaza, Rice Barn serves Thai food and Nick the Greek covers Mediterranean plates, but anything beyond fast food means a drive of a few minutes toward the Nut Tree or downtown. Living in North Village puts medical care on one side and open hills on the other, with the Nut Tree in between. It is a practical, quiet corner of town.
