One Lake is a master-planned district at the northeast edge of Fairfield, built around a 21-acre lake known as Lake Park, within reach of the Travis base gates and of Hannigan Station, the Amtrak stop shared by Fairfield and Vacaville. It was once called Canon Station, and construction is still underway, with about 1,230 homes planned in total. Right now it is partly built. The first phases are two-story single-family houses, the Sunflower at One Lake section among them, in four floor plans of roughly 2,000 to 2,300 square feet, and the plan layers in denser housing, a village core with retail, a boathouse and a new library as later phases arrive. The lake is the draw outdoors, with a trail around it, Lake Trail Park, a community garden called The Grove, a pool, a clubhouse and a fire pit area. A pedestrian bridge is planned across Vanden Road and Jepson Parkway to link the Linear Park Trail to nearby schools. Just outside, Travisville Park and a dog park for the base homes are about a fifth of a mile away, and Gary Falati Neighborhood Park is in Gold Ridge. The Travis Unified School District runs the schools on the far side of the road. Journey Coffee Co. Is the one cafe on site, serving specialty coffee drinks and sandwiches. Beyond it, the nearest restaurant cluster is the commercial strip near the base's gates, about a mile south, so a dinner out means a short drive. Getting around starts with the station, where Amtrak's Capitol Corridor line stops, and Vanden Road and Jepson Parkway handle the car trips. Because the build-out is unfinished, amenities arrive on a schedule instead of all at once. For now One Lake is a place being built around a lake, with the shoreline and trail further along than the shops.
