School Street is about as close as Moraga gets to a walkable core. Sitting near the Moraga Center, it is one of the few neighborhoods where you can actually stroll to shops, errands, and a coffee instead of driving, which is a real rarity in this town and a big part of why these blocks stay in demand. The homes are established single-family houses, and the location does a lot of the work: the Moraga Center for daily needs, Moraga Commons with its concerts and splash pad a short distance away, and the town's recreation hub all within easy reach. For Moraga, this is the convenient address. It is not the secluded hillside experience some buyers come to Lamorinda for, and the central spot means a bit more activity than the tucked-away cul-de-sacs. But if you want strong Moraga schools and the shortest possible distance between your front door and a gallon of milk, School Street delivers it. The commute is still over the hill, but at least the daily errands are not.
