Stone Creek is one of the 2000s master-planned neighborhoods on the east side, and its calling card is the amount of green built into it: the layout is stitched with bike trails and walking paths that make it easy to move around on foot or two wheels. The homes are clean early-2000s suburban stock on planned blocks. That trail network, plus the parks dropped between the phases, gives Stone Creek a stronger sense of the outdoors than most of the central-core neighborhoods to the west. The streets are wide and well kept, and the newer schools of the Sunrise Douglas area serve the community. The tradeoff is location and sameness: you are far from the freeway, so commutes run long, and the architecture is builder-standard rather than one of a kind. But for anyone who wants trails and greenery a step outside the door in a tidy, planned setting, Stone Creek is one of the greener bets on the east side.
