Studio Village is a quiet grid of ranch houses in Culver City, set between Culver Boulevard and Jefferson Boulevard and built around Lindberg Park. The Studio Drive-In screened films across the street from 1948 until 1993, and the neighborhood still carries the studio-era name. Studio Village is largely single-family, built from the 1940s on, with ranch-style houses making up the majority. A few Mediterranean and Craftsman-style homes date to the 1990s, and newer contemporary houses have replaced some originals. Townhomes and condos round out the edges near the boulevards. Lindberg Park on Rhoda Way is the center of daily life. It covers a little over four acres with tennis and basketball courts, ball fields, barbecue grills, picnic tables and a rec building. The Ballona Creek bike path runs close by and heads west toward Marina del Rey, and Blanco Park is a short walk away. Food comes from the small strip on Jefferson Boulevard, where Campos Tacos and Yokumon share space with quick lunch counters. Don Chuy's Mexican Restaurant, known for its Taco Tuesday specials, sits nearby at Raintree Plaza. Sorrento Italian Market, a Sepulveda Boulevard deli since 1963, is a short drive for sandwiches and cannoli. Errands are close. Pavilions and Target sit in the Studio Village Shopping Center nearby, and the Culver City Julian Dixon Library is inside the neighborhood on Overland Avenue. CulverCityBus stops line Jefferson, and flat streets make biking easy. Lindberg Park shows its age in spots. Most Studio Village days pass through Lindberg Park at some point, whether it's a tennis game, a stroll to the library or a bike ride out toward the creek.
